BABIS is proud to report the publication of "Professor Cromer Learns to Read: A Couple's New Life after Brain Injury"

by Janet M. Cromer, RN, MA, LMHC.

Janet, and her husband, Dr. Alan Cromer, were among the group of dedicated individuals who founded BABIS in 2001, and Janet was the first Facilitator of the Family/Caregiver Support Group which began several years later.

This remarkable story of Janet and Alan's journey following his Anoxic Brain Injury in July 1998 is described by Lee Woodruff (coauthor of "In an Instant: A Family's Journey of Love and Healing"):

"Janet Cromer has captured so elegantly and emotionally the ups and downs and roller coaster ride of experiencing a brain injury....
Cromer takes us beyond the injury and into the recovery, which, while painstaking, never fails to help us understand the beauty and the grace of little things, and to cherish what we do have."
